Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park
The smell of fresh-cooked chili will be heavy in the air in downtown Tampa when several teams of cooks face off for bragging rights in the Smoke on the River’s Big Guava Annual Chili Cook Off.
PLEASE NOTE: Following the announcement of Steve Otto’s retirement from the Tampa Tribune this year, we are happy to announce that the Steve Otto Chill Cook Off will continue with his blessing under a new name – the Big Guava Chili Cook Off! The new name is a tribute to Mr. Otto, as he coined the term “Big Guava” in reference to the City of Tampa years ago.
